Your player's club has tiers of play, you run frequent tournaments, and you have given away three cars this year in promotional drawings. What could make your loyalty club a more effective revenue generator? How about some old-fashioned competition? A player contest is a competition between some or all of your loyalty club players, for bragging rights and prizes based on the top finisher(s). Players are ranked based on aspects of their play -- like the biggest award won or the most number of comp points earned -- and are subsequently rewarded after the contest is over. As an example, you might run a player contest for your quarter slot players, and from 5:00pm Friday night until 5:00pm Sunday, all quarter slot players are ranked based on the most comp points accumulated. At the end of the allotted time, rewards are given to the top ten ranked players. Especially for player contests using electronic games, an up-to-date ranking list can show players where they stand. This might sound a lot like a tournament. It is a bit like a tournament, but there are some key differences:
In fact, when you're running a tournament, you're not earning money from any of that play since the entry pool typically gets redistributed to the tournament winners. In contrast, a player contest is run using live cash play, and can actually encourage higher handle on your gaming machines or tables as players try to outrank each other. You don't even need any specialized technology to offer player contests to your players -- you can run them entirely by hand. If you want to run a contest for your players, contact us to walk through the details. Player contests are patent pending. |
