Server-based gaming and downloadable games are all the rage, and rightly so. It's never been easier for a slot floor manager to decide that one game in a bank of slots needs to be changed out for another game. With today's technology, this can all be done from the back office, not by pulling chips or moving cabinets around. But when should games change? You could change your game settings infrequently, based on a weekly or monthly analysis of performance or other factors, but is that enough? In order to truly optimize your slot floor, you need to know much more information -- and be able to act on it. The dynamic game configuration process is an analytical engine that evaluates current gameplay parameters, historical game data, and even non-casino information, in order to derive a more profitable mix of game settings for your casino floor. Such information can include:
As a simple example, suppose it's a very busy night and your multi-denomination video poker games are completely full. It may be that several dollar VP players can't find machines, yet there are many nickel players playing away. In cases similar to this, a blackjack pit would up the table minimum from $5 to $10. You might want to do the same for these VP games, and increase the minimum denomination to a quarter. An automatic analysis process that reviews current play data can make this decision for you, and either present it for your approval or make the change automatically (where allowed). Since the decision is based on actual play data, you don't need to worry about inadvertantly raising the stakes when nobody's around. A more complex example might involve the showroom or arena -- if the event is sold out and you know the ticket sales are averaging $500/seat, chances are you've got some higher-limit players in your casino. The dynamic game configuration could recommend any number of machine changes based on this information. As a floor manager, you don't have the time to handle all the possible analysis needed to capture some of these scenarios. An analysis engine can do the dirty work for you, freeing up your time and simultaneously optimizing your results. Dynamic game configuration is patent-pending. |
