Eighty-to-one on a craps wager? When a red-chip player wins $400 on a
single bet, the crap table kicks it up a notch!
Hard Pass is a new wager for casino craps. It's like the
passline, except you only win if the shooter rolls a hard comeout number and
also makes it the hardway.
How To Play
- On the comeout roll, the player may wager on the Hard Pass area.
- If the shooter rolls any number other than a hard way point (hard 4, hard
6, hard 8, or hard 10), the Hard Pass wager loses. Even if the
shooter rolls a natural 7 or 11 and wins for the regular passline.
- If the shooter comes out on a hard point, and either sevens out or makes
the point the easy way, the Hard Pass wager also loses.
- However, if the shooter comes out on a hard point and then makes the point
the hard way, the Hard Pass wager wins 80-to-1!
Key Benefits and Facts
- The Hard Pass wager at 80-to-1 has a house edge of
9.09%, just like the traditional hardway wagers on 6 or 8. At 80-for-1,
the edge increases to 10.21%, right in between the edge on the hard 4
and the hard 6. Alternate payouts can range between 70-to-1 and
85-to-1, with corresponding edges of 20.31% to 3.48%, so you have lots
of flexibility in adjusting your theoretical hold.
- The Hard Pass bet is even better than the traditional hardway
bets since it only lasts as long as the associated pass bet: the Hard
Pass either loses on the first roll (89% of the time), or it either wins or loses when
the player resolves the pass bet. In contrast, the hardway bets
can stretch across multiple point rolls, especially when off on the
comeout, making for fewer bets per hour compared to the Hard Pass.
- Like the pass and come bets, it's just as simple to make Hard
Come bets that start after the shooter has established a point.
Since so many of the Hard Pass bets will lose on the comeout roll
even when the shooter establishes a point, allowing Hard Come
bets will keep more action on this high-reward proposition.
- If 80-to-1 isn't enough for your players, the optional Right-Back
Bonus pay schedule pays an increased award if the Hard Pass
bet is won on the first roll after the comeout roll. For example,
if a shooter comes out on a hard 6, and then rolls another hard 6 right
back, the Hard Pass bet can pay 225-to-1! If not,
but the shooter makes the hard 6 later on, the bet can still win
25-to-1, and this has same 9.09% edge as above. Like before, there
are many alternate payouts and corresponding house edges to allow you to
flexibly manage your pit.
- The Hard Pass Craps bet is patent-pending and approved for
play in Nevada.
