Eighty-to-one on a craps wager? When a red-chip player wins $400 on a single bet, the crap table kicks it up a notch!
Hard Pass is a new wager for casino craps. It’s like the passline, except you only win if the shooter rolls a hard point number and also makes the point the hard way.
How To Play
- On the comeout roll, the players may wager on the Hard Pass area. For maximum supervision, the wager area should be dealer-serviced and located in the prop box as shown.
- If the shooter rolls any number other than a hard way point (hard 4, hard 6, hard 8, or hard 10), the Hard Pass wager loses. Clear the wagers even if the shooter rolls a natural 7 or 11 and wins for the regular passline.
- If the shooter comes out on a hard point, and later sevens out or makes the point the easy way, the Hard Pass wager also loses.
- However, if the shooter comes out on a hard point number and then makes the point the hard way, the Hard Pass wager wins 80-to-1!
Key Benefits and Facts
- The Hard Pass bet adds huge excitement to the dice pit. With three tables working, the Hard Pass bet will be won every 50 minutes (on average). Even more exciting, a shooter will come out on a hard point every five minutes. Before long, everyone at the table will be rooting for the hard numbers and making the Hard Pass bet.
- The Hard Pass bet paying at 80-to-1 has a house edge of 9.09%, just like the hard 6 and 8 bets. Alternately, paying 85-to-1 yields a house edge of 3.48%, which should encourage players to make the bet frequently.
- The Hard Pass bet is even faster than the traditional hardway bets since it only lasts as long as the associated pass bet: the Hard Pass either loses on the first roll (89% of the time), or it either wins or loses when the player resolves the pass bet. In contrast, the hardway bets can stretch across multiple points, especially when called off on the comeout. That means more bets per hour with the Hard Pass bet and therefore more revenue.
- The Hard Pass bet is covered by U.S. Patent #7,661,677 and approved for play in Nevada and Mississippi.
