Odd and Even are two new single-roll side bets for casino craps, perfect for beginners and expert crapshooters alike.

How To Play

  1. At any time, the player may wager any multiple of $5 on either an Odd or Even box.  The layout placement is designed to allow all players to reach either bet regardless of where they’re standing at the rail.  As an alternative, the bets may  replace the Big 6 and Big 8 areas in the corner.
  2. If the player bets Odd and the next roll comes 5, 7, 9, or 11, the player wins even money.  If the roll comes 3 (Odd craps), the player wins 4-to-5.  Since it’s the Odd bet, if the roll comes Even, the player loses.
  3. If the player bets Even and the next roll comes 4, 6, 8, or 10, the player wins even money.  If the roll comes 2 or 12 (Even craps), the player wins 4-to-5.  Since it’s the Even bet, if the roll comes Odd, the player loses.
  4. As with many bets, if the player bets in other than $5 multiples the house will round down and keep any fractional win.  (Breakage rules vary by jurisdiction.)
  5. There aren’t any more details — it really is that simple!

Key Benefits and Facts

  • Odd and Even are great for dice players:  both bets have a 1.11% house edge and exactly 50% chance of winning. That’s a better win frequency and lower house edge than virtually every other bet on the table (not counting the lay bets or free odds bets).
  • The Odd and Even bets are intuitive, one-roll wagers that make it easy for a beginner to step up to the table for the first time and put a bet down, without worrying about how to play. Everyone knows what "Odd" or "Even" means, so now anyone can be a craps player — without having to take lessons first!
  • Odd and Even are also great for your dice pit: even though they have the lowest edge on the table, their monthly win can outperform the hardways by 100% and even make over twice as much as the passline.
  • The Odd and Even bets are covered by U.S. Patent #7,377,513 and have been approved for play in Nevada and Mississippi.
